Loss of a loved one, my mom and then my dad. Dad passed away on November 12, 2018. Now realizing I have not blogged here all of 2019. Loss of a loved one is hard, especially when doing something and you want to share it with that person and it all comes back with all the emotions.
When my friends loved ones pass, it hits me all over again. Now I'm experiencing the loss of a loved pet, my Ginger. I don't know why or what happened, the 18th she was just sitting outside the coop not moving, still not moving when I gave them their evening treats. I picked her up and held her for a few minutes and then put her inside the nesting box. The next day, January 19, 2020, she passed away. I'm numb. I buried her. I'm still processing. Before Ginger passing, Roxie, I gave her to my friend Jennifer about 18 years ago, Roxie passed away on January 16, 2020. Very sad.
Loss hurts.
In looking up Loss, I found this site: https://www.cancercare.org/publications/135-grief_and_healing_coping_with_the_loss_of_a_loved_one an excerpt from this site:
The grieving process is unpredictable; your feelings may change from day to day or even minute to minute. Many people find it helpful to identify the feelings they are experiencing and talk about them. Others find it helpful to explore their feelings in a journal. Journaling can be cathartic and may allow you to take note of your growth that you may not have otherwise recognized. What is important in the grief process is that you grieve in your own personal way—a way that helps you heal.I am more of a journaler. Journaling does help in the healing process. The above site also lists ways to care for yourself and care for others going through loss.
